About Ahodwo Farms

From Our Farms, For Your Family — Nourishing Lives, Empowering Farmers

Who We Are

A Cassava Company Built on Opportunity

AHODWO FARMS is an integrated agro-processing company based at Juapong in the Volta Region of Ghana, focused on large-scale cultivation of cassava and its value-addition into high-demand products: Ahodwo Premium Gari today, with High Quality Cassava Flour (HQCF), cassava starch and cassava flakes planned. We chose cassava because it is an inclusive cash crop that women, men and youth can cultivate with minimal capital, yet the value chain is plagued by high post-harvest losses due to limited processing capacity and market access. Ahodwo Farms exists to solve this problem. We harness this opportunity by working hand-in-hand with our out-grower network to create jobs, ensure food security, and drive sustainable rural development. Operating with a targeted nucleus farm of 5,000 acres and a network of over 2,000 out-grower farmers (with 60% focus on women and youth), our model is built on all-year-round farming and continuous processing. At Ahodwo Farms, we are not just farming cassava — we are nourishing families, empowering farmers, and building sustainable communities.

Our Vision

“To be Ghana's leading integrated cassava-based food brand, transforming local cassava into world-class nutritious foods that feed Africa and the world, while creating lasting prosperity for farming communities.”

Our Mission

“To profitably farm and process cassava into high-quality, affordable and nutritious foods — Gari, High Quality Cassava Starch (HQCF), Fufu Flour, Konkonte Flour, Quoted Honey Cassava Flakes and Agro Inputs — by empowering outgrower farmers, developing our staff, and protecting our environment through sustainable practices.”

What We Set Out to Do

3 Curb rural-urban migration by creating viable livelihoods for the youth.
4 Support farming families through wealth creation and value addition.
5 Create over 100+ direct jobs and over 500+ indirect jobs along the value chain.

Where We Are Heading

Our Strategic Goals

Targets we are working towards — not figures we have already reached.

Production & Value Creation

  • Establish a 5,000+ acre nucleus farm and aggregate from 5,000+ outgrowers within 3 years.
  • Achieve full zero-waste processing: roots to food products, peels to animal feed, starch water to organic fertilizer, stems to planting material for outgrowers.
  • Produce FDA/GSA certified products: Fortified Gari, HQ Cassava Starch, HQCF, Fufu Flour, Kokonte Flour and Ready-to-eat Honey Cassava Flakes for the breakfast market.
  • Set up a one-stop Agro-Input Shop supplying improved cuttings, fertilizer and mechanization services to outgrowers at subsidized rates.

Outgrower Community

  • Guaranteed Market: an off-taker agreement and guaranteed minimum price for all outgrowers — no more post-harvest loss.
  • Input Support Scheme: improved high-yielding, disease-resistant cuttings (Bankye Hemaa, Sika Bankye), training on Good Agronomic Practices (GAP) and extension services.
  • Wealth Creation: increase outgrower income by 40–60% through yield improvement (from 12MT/ha to 30MT/ha) and fair pricing.
  • Youth & Women Inclusion: target 50% of outgrowers to be women and youth in cassava communities.

Staff Development & Welfare

  • Create 100+ direct decent jobs in processing, QA, marketing and farm operations.
  • Continuous skills development, health insurance, safety PPE and a bonus scheme for staff.

Environmental Sustainability

  • Practice climate-smart agriculture: minimal tillage, intercropping with legumes, composting.
  • Transition to renewable energy — solar dryers for flour, biomass from cassava peels for the boiler.
  • Achieve 100% traceability from farm to final pack.

Market & Financial

  • Become a household name in Ghana for premium Gari, Kokonte, Fufu Flour and Breakfast Cassava Flakes within 3 years.
  • Supply HQ Starch to industrial users — bakeries, plywood, textile and breweries.
  • Achieve 30% export to diaspora markets (UK, US, Canada) by year 3.
Our Story So Far

From a Smallholding to 1,400 Acres

Ahodwo Farms operates a nucleus farm of 1,400 acres — scaling towards a targeted 5,000 — with over 700+ acres cultivated to feed our processing factory. Through our in-house out-grower scheme — CASSAVA FOR CASH GUARANTEE — we support over 850+ out-grower farmers farming about 2,000 acres of cassava, advancing cash against a member's own cassava farm after assessment and verification. We employ over 400+ young people (average age 28, 70% women), providing free lunch for all workers and food and accommodation for 75+ of them. Our gari is among the best on the Ghanaian market: demand of about 500 bulk bags (150kg each) a week far exceeds our current production of 60–70 bags — and we are scaling to meet it.

Scaling to 500 Bags

With weekly demand of ~500 bags against production of 60–70, we are expanding capacity, acreage and opportunity.
